Notifications
Pipeline results delivered to your team's Slack channel.
What gets notified
When a pipeline fails, gittan posts a notification to the team's configured Slack channel. When the same branch passes again, a follow-up "resolved" message is posted. Reviews and other pipeline events are also delivered.
Notifications are batched with a cooldown to avoid flooding your channel during noisy periods.
Setup
Two things need to happen:
- An org admin connects Slack under Admin → Integrations. This creates the gittan Slack app and authorizes it in your workspace.
- Each team sets their notification channel under Team settings →
Notifications. Enter the Slack channel name (e.g.
#team-deploys) and invite@gittanto that channel.
What it looks like
Failure notifications include the repo name, branch, commit message, and which step failed. Resolved notifications reference the original failure so you can see the fix.
No configuration needed for what gets notified — failures always notify, recoveries always follow up. If you want silence, leave the channel empty.
