Create your org
Set up your organization, invite your team, and optionally connect your identity provider.
What an org is
An org is your top-level container. Everything in gittan lives under it — teams, repos, pipelines, secrets, and policies. Your org name becomes your namespace:
git.gittan.eu/your-org/your-repo.git
npm.gittan.eu/your-org/
images.gittan.eu/your-org/your-image Choose a short, lowercase name with hyphens — the same way you would name a GitHub organization. It cannot be changed later.
Sign up and create
- Go to gittan.eu and sign in with your email. You will receive a 6-digit code — no password needed.
- Click Create organization and pick a name.
- You are now the org owner. Owners can manage teams, repos, authentication, billing, and secrets.
Invite your team
Go to Admin > Members and invite people by email. They will receive a sign-in link and can start using the org immediately.
Assign members to teams to control repo access. You can create teams first and invite later, or invite first and assign later.

Optional: connect your IdP
By default everyone signs in with email OTP. If you want single sign-on through your identity provider (Entra, Google, Okta, etc.):
- Go to Admin > Authentication.
- Enter your IdP’s issuer URL, client ID, and client secret.
- Save — gittan verifies the issuer before saving.
OIDC is included on every plan. See the full setup guide with provider-specific instructions at People.
What’s next
