Pipeline preview

See exactly what will run before you push.

What it shows

Pipeline preview dry-runs the policy resolver for a repo and shows the full list of steps that would execute — from policies, platform scanning, and the repo's own .gittan.yaml.

Each step shows its source (policy, platform, or repo config), execution stage (which steps run in parallel), and any branch filters.

Where to find it

On a policy page: expand "Matched repos" to see every repo the policy matches, each with its full resolved pipeline. Useful when editing policies to verify which repos are affected and what their complete pipeline looks like.

On a repo settings page: the "Pipeline preview" section shows the resolved pipeline for that specific repo, including which policies contributed steps.

How resolution works

A repo's pipeline is the union of steps from all matching policies, platform policies (secret scan, dependency scan), and the repo's own config. Enforce-mode policies always run. Default-mode policies are overridden if the repo has a .gittan.yaml with its own steps.

The preview shows exactly this resolution — the same logic the pipeline runner uses. What you see is what will run.
